Bel Air Mother's Death Ruled Homicide
TULSA, OKLAHOMA
A suspect in the murder of Bel Air mother Rachel Morin is in custody in Tulsa, Oklahoma, awaiting extradition. The body of Morin, 37, was discovered on the Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air on Sunday afternoon.
According to investigators, Morin was last seen alive on the trail around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Her family reported her missing later that evening when she failed to return home.
A search and rescue operation was conducted on Monday, and Morin's body was found along the trail in a wooded area. Police are investigating her death as a homicide.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested without incident in Tulsa on Wednesday. He is expected to be extradited to Maryland to face charges in Morin's murder.
Morin's death has shocked the Bel Air community. She was a beloved mother of five and an active member of the community.
"Rachel was a wonderful person," said her friend, Kelly Smith. "She was always smiling and always willing to help others. This is a terrible loss for our community."
