Atlas V Rocket And Starliner Capsule To Be Re Stacked

Starliner Launch Campaign to Resume May 8th

Atlas V Rocket and Starliner Capsule to be Re-stacked

After a successful Flight Readiness Review, United Launch Alliance (ULA) will roll the Starliner capsule and its Atlas V launch vehicle back to the company's Vertical Integration Facility (VIF) on May 8th. This move marks the resumption of the Starliner launch campaign, which had been paused for additional testing.

Starliner's Economic Impact

The Starliner program has had a significant economic impact across the United States, with over 425 suppliers in 37 states contributing to its development. The program also supports approximately 5,000 jobs.

Safe Abort System

The Starliner capsule is equipped with a pusher abort system, which provides additional safety for astronauts in the event of a launch or ascent emergency. This system allows the capsule to separate from the launch vehicle and propel itself to safety.

45-Day Launch Countdown

Starliner's launch campaign will begin 45 days before liftoff, when ULA begins stacking the Atlas V rocket at Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams are scheduled to launch aboard Starliner on a test flight to the International Space Station.
